Roelof Kiers had a special relationship with the American musician, composer and filmmaker Frank Zappa. So much so that Kiers was allowed to collaborate on his film 200 Motels. In the portrait Kiers made of Zappa, the latter is frank about his motives, political viewpoints - he put himself up for the presidency - his love life and music. The soundtrack is filled with Zappa's music, including tracks by his band The Mothers of Invention.
