Filmmaker Monique Verhoeckx’ father and grandfather struggle with posttraumatic stress syndrome resulting from a troubled war past. Through this experimental drama, she tries to fathom their impenetrable world. Senior, the fictional leading character, grapples with his former captivity, doing forced labour on the Burma Railway. He tries to speak his heart and mind to his son Junior, played by Verhoeckx’ own father. He hopes to overcome his anger and impotence and make peace with his son and himself.
