Documentary from the VARA television series Impact, about the flight of a young couple to Geneva. Impact editor Hans Polak was born in Switzerland just after the war. His Jewish parents had fled their home in Amsterdam three years earlier. The journey was extremely dangerous, but the refugees were lucky. They found themselves in Brussels with the aid of a smuggler; thanks to a brave French woman they were able to cross the demarcation line and, unlike many others, they were not deported by the Swiss. In Een vlucht naar Zwitserland Hans Polak reconstructs his parents' flight. His mother tells the story from day to day and accompanies him on the route. The report is augmented by recorded comments by Polak's father who died in 1987.
