The employees of pram factory Slieps are preparing the festivities around the silver jubilee of director Hein Slotter. The editorial staff of the house organ asks the workers for apt stories from Slotter's past, but someone invents a story about a good thrashing. The fabrication ends up in the speech of Slieps, the aging company founder. During the celebrations, a lingering conflict between the two gentlemen escalates. With poignant acting by Paul Steenbergen as the demented founder and Slotter's father-in-law.
