Documentary about the famous architect Willem Marinus Dudok (1884-1974). Dudok worked for much of his life in Hilversum and his buildings shaped the face of this broadcasting town. His large body of work, that included furniture and interior designs as well as architecture, reflected the development of building in our century. In the documentary Dudok... de wereld een beetje mooier achterlaten (Dudok... leaving a better world behind), experts and people who knew Dudok personally talk about the significance of Dudok's work and about the inspiration that he found in music. Recent footage and historical film and photo material link the present with the past and show how Dudok's work evolved over the years.
