Short documentary from a series of film portraits showing refugees in the Netherlands. The Iranian gay Saro (24) fled his home and hearth as a result of his sexual orientation.
Because the 24-year-old Saro from Iran likes to walk around dressed as a woman and is gay, his religious family turned him out of the house. And when he started his own beauty parlour, he received threats ‘because he was a disgrace to the city’. Meanwhile, he has been in the Netherlands for three months, waiting for his asylum procedure to start. How does he feel over here? Short documentary from a series of film portraits showing the diversity of refugees in the Netherlands. Saro's story is introduced by writer and TV host Cornald Maas.
