Documentary portrait of two of the filmmaker's aunts. Her mother's sisters, both in their seventies, still live together in their parental home that has hardly been changed since their grandfather furnished it in the twenties. The film follows the women's lives for seven days. These days consist of fixed routines of making and drinking tea, tending to the plants, listening to the radio, eating and washing up. They don't seem to need to talk to each other any more - the film has no dialogue - but there are the sounds of the piano-music, of the radio. De zusters van mijn moeder (My Mother's Sisters) provides an intriguing picture of two people, intensely familiar with each other and fused with their surroundings.
