De wereld rond in 68mm is a fictitious journey through the most memorable meetings of the filmpioneer William Kennedy-Laurie Dickson. Around the turn of the century, Dickson travelled through Europe and the USA with a self designed recording and projection system. He made over two hundred recordings of heads of state, comedians, famous trials, and inventions. Out of this material, the Dutch Film Museum selected a unique compilation including a number of Dutch films.
