There is the old Ronnie and the new Ronnie. The old Ronnie is a hard-boiled criminal from Amsterdam who gives his creditors a ruthless dressing down without batting an eyelid. The new Ronnie is a calm observing man with overdelicate senses. The turning point: surviving an attempt on his life. The search for the offender that Ronnie and his bodyguard Janus undertake in Dokkum, is interwoven with the story of a traumatised Angolan asylum seeker. Guido van Driel turned his own graphic novel into a film full of visual gems.
