The wanderings of a Spanish gypsy.
Protagonist of The Future Is in an Hour is Salvador Vega, a gypsy whose whole life is shaped by the fact that he was imprisoned at the age of eighteen by the Franco regime for alleged drug dealing. When he was released, his Irish wife and their son had disappeared. He roamed Europe for years looking for them, until he found out that his wife's brothers had betrayed him to the police in the first place. He is now a blacksmith in Seville, in an urban neighbourhood that is the last haven for many gypsies like Salvador.
