In the 1992/1993 season, VPRO TV broadcast six idiosyncratic television films. All six were based on plays: 1913 and Der Snob by C. Sternheim, Zur schönen Aussicht by O. van Horváth, Der Starke Stamm by Marie Luise Fleißer, The Big Knife by C. Oderts and Queer People by M. Gorki. All films were shot on location. During the Netherlands Film Festival, one of the six films was screened: De sterke stam, set in rural surroundings.
