The history, marked by trauma, war and adventure, of writer Alexander Münninghoff’s family that fled from Latvia. A documentary about the will to survive, no matter how painful it is.

Writer Alexander Münninghoff takes us to places that play a key role in his traumatic family history: Riga, Würzburg, Brabant, The Hague. Fleeing the Soviet threat, overtaken by World War II. The Eastern Front, a new life in the Netherlands, the separation from his parents. A contemplation of the role history played in a family that was driven by resentment, nostalgia and the pursuit of wealth. Gradually, the theme of the film emerges: the will to survive, no matter how painful and difficult it is.
