Seunke's feature film-debut, a prize winner in Venice, in which Gerard Thoolen takes a neglected girl under his wing.
Feature film, inspired by the novel The visitor from 1976, written by the Hungarian author György Konrád. The story deals with a cynical, rule-abiding civil servant of the social services (played by Gerard Thoolen), whose life changes when he is confronted with a girl that has been locked up in a closet for years by her mentally deficient parents. The film won a Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival and the Dutch Critics Award.
