Telling portrait of the 74-year-old bachelor Huibert-Jan Groenendijk, who runs a simple cigar store in Rotterdam. In the fifteen years he has been doing this, he has been robbed 23 times. The indestructible Groenendijk tells about his experiences with relish, standing behind his counter, and shows where the robber with a revolver stood who shot him in the leg. He also verbally reconstructs a robbery with a knife. He can laugh about it, but also admits it has left its mark on him. His blue eyes stare sadly at the floor. But not for long; Groenendijk brings out the baseball bat with a hole in the handle, his keys dangling from it. Carrying a weapon to protect his shop is not allowed. The police gave him this tip themselves. Groenendijk's stories in his store are alternated with footage of his surveillance camera and at his house.
