Author Kees van Beijnum adapted his much-acclaimed novel De ordening for a telefilm. Principal character is the nihilism-bent Stella. As a graduated student of journalism, she is offered a job by former Dutch national socialist Ewald de Heus Verolmen's still extreme rightwing widow, who wants to record her memoirs. Anticipating a scoop, Stella accepts the job. Very accurately, she sorts out the archive of the reviled lady and her deceased husband, without judging about good or evil. Halfway through the summer, the mysterious Andreas pays a visit to the widow. He claims to be the grandson of her former lover, who confiscated Jewish art collections during the war. Stella falls for Andreas. Unwittingly, she becomes entangled in a shady conspiracy, which has its dénouement in Switzerland.
