Hiroshi Sakaida will shortly become the fifteenth successor in the 400-year-old family business that produces the world’s most famous type of porcelain: Kakiemon. Is the modest son capable of succeeding his assertive and gifted father? The documentary not only zooms in on the fragile family relations and the concomitant pressure of the modern consumer society, but also gives insight into the traditional production process of the delicate ceramics.
