The Antwerp-based choreographer Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui is the son of a Moroccan father and Flemish mother. His choice for a life as an artist caused a breach with his father, who found it decadent. Bearing no malice, Cherkaoui talks about his demanding father, who passed away before his son reaped fame. As a choreographer, he explores his Arab-Flemish identity and looks for a new kinetic language that can bridge different cultures. The documentary follows the preparations and executions of various dance performances.
