The first of the two Johan Daisne films by André Delvaux. A story balancing on the frontier between reality and illusion - typical of 'magic realism'. Govert Miereveld does not recognise in the Fran he meets again after many years the Fran he had worshipped. They spend a long night together and it ends with a shot. Has he really killed her, or was it an illusion?
