Documentary about the Amsterdam Stedelijk Museum, based on six key pieces from the museum collection.
After having been closed down for eight years, the renovated Amsterdam Stedelijk Museum was reopened in September 2012. Based on six key pieces from the museum collection, which are inextricably linked with the six directors the museum has had since World War II, the film portrays ‘het Stedelijk’, then and now. It turns out that personal tastes and developments in both arts and society governed the additions to the collection.
