Riding a bike is like breathing. First as a child on the back of your mother or father’s bike, later on in front, with friends, with your first love. It is existential and sensual. The wind in your back, against the storm. Cycling involves both happiness and misfortune. Every street or neighbourhood has its own little monuments and memories. In this poetic reflection, someone occasionally pops up from this propelling, bobbing flock of cyclists. From courier, mobile bicycle repairman and physiotherapist to a family of immigrants and a traffic victim: They explain how the bicycle plays a decisive role in their lives.
