Music group De Kift and theatre group Tryater performed the opening production of Oerol 2010, an adaptation of the novel De Master en Margarita (1966), in which the devil and his henchmen prowl around Moscow. Ira Judkovskaja, artistic director of Tryater, moved the scene from the city to a Wadden Isle. The festival visitors at Oerol are swung back and forth between two extremes. A duel between order and freedom, between theatre and reality.
