First Frisian-spoken feature film is a dramatised interpretation of the controversial Hogerhuis Case, that stirred up feelings in the Netherlands and particularly in Friesland around 1900. Protagonist is Wiebren (Peter Tuinman received the Golden Calf for Best Actor for this role), one of three Hogerhuis brothers who, suspected of housebreaking and attempted manslaughter, falls victim to political scheming and revenge nurtured by love.
