Portrait of the Chinese Kung-Fu master Qui Rong Zhao (1956). Several years ago, Zhao came as a political refugee to the Netherlands. Since then he feels like the dragon under water in the Chinese book Yie. When a dragon is under water, he keeps temporarily quiet. Waiting for a suitable moment to come up, he hides and turns to inner reflections. The documentary sketches a picture of the everyday life of the philosophical refugee and lets him talk about his sources of inspiration, Oriental martial arts, Chinese culture, his past and the situation in which he is now.
