Youth film with live music about three young people who want to realise their dreams within a year. Martijn, manager of a pop band, dreams of a career as a poet. When it turns out that his desires do not match his parents' expectations, he leaves school and starts gambling, He gradually gets in debt more and more. He doesn't only spend his own money, but also the money of the band and his girlfriend. When the band throws him out and his girlfriend decides to pursue her singing career, he finds himself isolated. His Moroccan friend Fez tries to keep him away from the one-armed bandits, but realizes that Martijn can only be helped if he wants to be.
