Satirical political drama focussing on the relationship between media and politics. Protagonist is politician Hans Gerdsen (Mark Rietman) who, just when he is nominated for the party leadership, is suspected of embezzling a disputed expenses claim. In the affair that follows, his political friends turn their backs on him. The fact that Gerdsen is discredited is very convenient to his fellow-candidate and best friend (Gijs Scholten van Aschat). And the current party leader also has his preferences. Gerdsen frenetically tries to prove his innocence, allowing a TV crew to follow him for a whole week. This gets terribly out of hand when in a live TV programme, a kind of political Big Brother, the viewers can gloat over an agonising family drama. What was intended as a strategic P.R. stunt appears to have far-reaching consequences both for Gerdsen's family and his political career.
