Disillusioned, Daan resigns from his lucrative job as a development aid worker for the United Nations to launch his own company in Congo. He feels this country could become the storage room of a continent contending with climate change and a strong population growth. Food is rotting in the province, whereas in the capital Kinshasa there is a food shortage. The film starts at the end: the farmers who would produce everything for him explain how Daan left without a word. They wonder: did he make or lose money?
