Telefilm based on the successful play Cloaca. Owing to circumstances, four old college friends are thrown upon each other. Joep is a member of the Lower House. He is mixed up in matrimonial troubles and hides out for a while at Pieter's. Pieter works as an official for the local government. For years, he was allowed to pick a painting from the municipal art depot as a birthday present, but now that these works turn out to be valuable, the council wants them back. Tom is a senior lawyer who is addicted to coke. He tries to help Pieter, but as a result of his addiction he is in fact sidetracked. The fourth friend, Maarten, is awaiting the première of his stage play, in which Joep's 18-year-old daughter, with whom he has a secret relationship, plays a role. In solidarity with each other, the men decide to help each other, but their old friendship and former expectations are not immune to the ravages of time and their selfish ambitions. Golden Calf winner for the Audience Award, the Special Jury Award in 2003 and awarded a Golden Film.
