The unfathomable Boudewijn de Groot for the first time allows a camera in his private domain. With a musical journey through time, the film investigates who this introverted singer really is.
Not only outsiders, but also the people in his immediate vicinity have trouble fathoming Boudewijn de Groot. His son Marcel calls him ‘emotionally inscrutable’. For this documentary, the singer for the first time allowed a camera behind the scenes and in his private domain. We also witness how on stage he bids farewell to his hit songs, which he does not want to play anymore when he will be past seventy. Meanwhile, he is composing new, often very personal songs. The film makes a musical journey through time, investigating who this inward-looking man really is.
