A planned summer trip to France is suddenly cut short because grandpa is seriously ill. The family has to pick up the thread at home as they had left it, but this is remarkably complicated.

When a family is about to leave for France for the summer vacation, they hear grandpa is seriously ill. They make a U-turn and return home, to grandpa. Unexpectedly, every member of the family has time to get better acquainted with the people in the neighbourhood. In different ways, father, mother and the children cope with the cancelled holiday trip.
