Film follows the eleven-year-old Colin on the eve of his official application for a name change. He no longer wants to have his father’s surname because they have lost contact.
Eleven-year-old Colin wants to change his surname. He was seven when his parents got divorced, and now he has lost contact with his father. This is why he doesn’t want to be called Alberts anymore, but Boef, his mother’s surname. He delivers a school lecture about name change - which elicits honest, but painful questions from classmates - and he writes a letter to his father asking him for permission. The answer fills Colin with serious doubt.
