Actors are insecure, highfalutin, vain and always wondering how they come across. They are never genuine, people think. But what is ‘genuine’, in fact? And what does ‘acting’ do to the mind of an actor? This documentary, made on the occasion of the 25th anniversary of Toneelgroep Amsterdam, shows the rehearsal process of John Cassavetes' play Husbands. In the process, the players and stage director are asked about acting as a profession and the person behind the actor.
