In short animation film, a trumpet playing boy does an audition for the concentration-camp orchestra. He says goodbye to his father and walks to what seems an execution place. His first notes generate a colourful, consolatory fantasy world. Then, the barren reality sets in. Filmmaker Udo Prinsen drew inspiration from the personal concentration-camp account by trumpet player Lex van Weren and from drawings by Auschwitz captives.
