Bird watcher Arjan Dwarshuis is a man on a mission: in one year, he wants to spot as many different birds worldwide as possible. This documentary follows him during his unremitting record attempt.
Arjan Dwarshuis has to spot over 6042 bird species in one year to break the world bird-spotting record. The documentary follows this young bird-watcher for a year, during what is known among birders as a Big Year. Dwarshuis travels across forty countries and goes through personal highs and lows. At the same time, the film shows the huge devastation caused to the birds’ habitats by humans, as well as success stories by local conservationists.
