Experimental documentary about digging lignite.
Short experimental documentary about digging lignite in which the soil plays the leading role. The film abstracts the mining activities by stressing the enormous piles of earth. Stylised images, that look like abstract paintings, and tranquil and artificial surrealist landscapes are juxtaposed with energetic movements and the agressive character of the mining work. The industrial process of lignite mining is transformed in Allocation in to a dynamic choreography, in which structure, rhythm and the tempo of the moving soil are crucial elements.
