Documentary follows the everyday life of five working women with young children. They are occasionally described as 'The New Woman'. They are ambitious in every respect, and able, eager and have to do everything: have cildren, a nice job, a passionate marriage, a house of their own. The women have prepared for their future, they are free. But at what cost? In interviews te women talk about the burdens of motherhood. The lusts seem thinner on the ground. They had not expected their motherhood to have such an impact on their life and work, while the relationship with their husbands is slowly getting bogged down. Yet they do not believe they would be good full-time mothers. By consciously choosing for their work, they choose to get out of the everyday 'routine machine'.
