Conceptual artist Ger van Elk (1941-2014) expresses himself in all forms that art offers. Documentary about his final years summarises his oeuvre and talks about what you don’t see.

Artist Ger van Elk (1941-2014) expresses himself in all forms that art offers. His work is labelled conceptual. It is witty and ironical, but at the same time extremely serious. Van Elk is continuously looking for beauty and poetry. This short documentary follows Ger in his final years. In Venice, he performs a Replacement Piece and designs his final work: twelve automatic landscapes. He gives us a survey of his oeuvre, at the same time talking about his ideas and how he executes them. He takes the viewer beyond the horizon; to what we don’t see.
