Working directly onto film, Van Cuijlenborg creates an abstract, light-footed universe in which colour, form and movement become primary visual elements again.
Animated film shows frivolous butterfly-like figures swarming around in an abstract world of lines, drops and chemical reactions. An energetic and lively gallery of colour and form explosions, propelled by a whipping piano recital. Powerful in tone, light in nature. By working directly onto film, filmmaker Oerd van Cuijlenborg says goodbye to analogue film, creating film animation in its purest form.
