Colourful documentary about the Netherlands Antilles, intended to increase the knowledge of Dutchmen about their overseas territories. John Fernhout captured the life and nature on the ABC Islands (Aruba, Bonaire and Curacao), paying a lot of attention to music. In 1958, the film was nominated for the Golden Palm at Cannes. But Fernhout did not clinch the Golden Palm. It went (ex aequo) to the French entry La Seine a rencontré Paris by his former mentor, Joris Ivens.
