It is inextricably linked to the history of the Soviet Union: the megalomaniac concrete-panel houses that appeared in the 1960s. At the time, these Soviet apartment blocks represented great progress. By now, the dilapidated buildings reflect an evaporated paradigm of the Soviet Union. Using a special photographic technique, director Pim Zwier evocatively separates past, present and future of this architecture, which can still serve as a symbol of the current situation in Russia.
