#37 begins with an anonymous third-century quote about 'life-bearing' polygonal stones: spontaneously reproducing crystals. They are often considered an intermediate form between the world of minerals and that of plants and animals. Computer animations reveal the miraculous growth of virtual crystals. The particles continually re-organise themselves into a symmetrical pattern.
