Documentary series in ten parts. 'The kingdom of ahades', Maxim Gorki called one of the first film screenings. Phantoms, vague shadows of the actual objects. Why would one want to make them? For visual artist Fiona Tan, the second commandment, 'Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven images, thou shalt not bow down to them or serve them', is a personal challenge. Tan works in an associative way, looking for the relationship between people and the images they possess. In the beginning, we see a statue of Lenin being torn down - the registration of which is an image in itself. Tan interviews photo collectors, who give amateur shots a new meaning by arranging or publishing them, and alternates this with shots of ordinary people showing their favourite images. In the process, she also examines the role images play for herself.
