BoostNL is the collaboration between the Netherlands Film Festival (NFF) and International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR), offering projects in development and post-production an entirely tailor-made programme, starting at NFF in September and culminating at IFFR in January.

By combining the two festivals’ forces and resources, and by molding the programme around the projects’ individual goals and wishes, BoostNL provides the selected participants with strong industry exposure and top-notch inspiration for the advancement of their projects.

Previous editions of BoostNL have included the expertise and inspiration of such renowned experts as Susan Korda (editor, USA), Jane Tattersall (sound designer, Canada), Anna Ciennik (script expert, France), Sergina Stavroulaki (Heretic Outreach, Greece), Mathias Noschis (Alphapanda, Germany), Silje Nikoline Glimsdal (TrustNordisk, Denmark), Kate Leys (script expert, UK), Fiona Crombie (production/costume designer, UK), Damiaan Denys (psychologist, Belgium), and Mijke de Jong (film director, the Netherlands).

The 2021 Lab begins over the course of August 2021. The HFM festival programme will be from Thursday September 30 to Saturday October 2, 2021.

HFM projects programme
The programme is shaped like a multiple-week creative lab. It consists of plenary workshops, one-to-one expert meetings, and other events geared towards your project’s creative deepening and marketplace potential. It starts ahead of the actual film festival and HFM, and its duration and focus are different depending on the scheme the project has been selected for. BoostNL, Stories & Beyond and New Dutch are part of the HFM projects programme.
