Anton van Munster (1934-2009) attended the Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia in Rome. In 1958, he was hired as a focus puller for
Fanfare by Bert Haanstra. This film was included in the Canon of the Dutch Film in 2007. Subsequently, he was responsible for the photography of nearly all of Haanstra's films, including
Bij de beesten af and
Alleman, which both received Oscar nominations. In total, Van Munster was the cameraman for more than forty feature films and documentaries.
