Vergeef me (Forgive Me)
In Forgive me, the devil persuades filmmaker Cyrus Frisch to cross the border of what is acceptable and tear his actors to pieces. Frisch shamelessly exploits and manipulates the sorrow of a group of marginal individuals he has met in the street. The alcoholic and whore-hopper Nico, his psychotic ex-girlfriend and alcoholic Chiquita, the heroin addict and invalid Achmed, Chiquita's ex-boyfriend Peter who is suffering from a rare disease, Mrs. Verhoeff whose daughter was killed by a junkie, and finally her daughter Astrid who dreams of a career as a singer. The 'actors' are being manipulated in a provocative way. The unsuspecting spectator is left forlorn. Is the onlooker an innocent voyeur and the filmmaker an amoral sensation seeker, or is the onlooker a passive accomplice?
