Terug naar Oegstgeest

Feature film adapted from Jan Wolkers' novel of the same name and his stories Serpentina's Petticoat and Dominee met de strooien hoed. We see how a man, Jan, has returned to his birthplace Oegstgeest. Sitting at the deathbed of his starkly Calvinist, authoritarian father, childhood memories resurface. Jan tries to complete the jigsaw puzzle of his past. Using flashbacks, the film shows an accumulation of more or less bizarre events and anecdotes from the thirties and forties.
