Pleidooi II (afl. 19) (Called to the Bar)
Television series about the work and private lives of a group of young lawyers, written by Hugo Heinen, Maria Goos and Pieter van den Waterbeemd. This episode, directed by Mike van Diem, focusses on lawyer Cas Heystee. When Cas starts an affair with a colleague, his mentally-disturbed wife stabs him with a pair of scissors. During the court case, the question is whether the wife should be held in detention. As victim and husband, Cas plays a crucial rols in the trial. He can take advantage of the right to be exempt from testimony, but he can also choose to give evidence. As a lawyer he knows exactly how he can decide his wife's fate. The course of the trial forces Cas to take a decision.
