Parfait Amour
In this psychological drama, inspired by Milan Kundera's book The Laugh and Patrick Modiano's The Street with Dark Shops, director and scriptwriter Jean van de Velde investigates the phenomenon of memory loss. The main character is a Czech living in Holland, who loses his memory after a car accident and starts searching for the truth surrounding the crash. After the artistic films by the First Amsterdam Film Association, the feature film Parfait Amour was a turning point for Van de Velde. After this film, he started to make more accessible films for a wider audience.
