Monsieur Hawarden

Adaptation of Filip de Pillecyn's novel from 1935, which is based on true events. Jan Blokker wrote the script for producent Rob du Mée's third and most ambitious costume film. The title role is played by Ellen Vogel. Vogel plays a woman who is dressed up as a man and settles in the Belgian Ardennes in the nineteenth century. The sequestered life she leads raises many questions and strong tension, but nobody suspects that the aristocrat is on the run from the police.
