Single play from the VARA series De smeltkroes shot in the Netherlands and Morocco. Police inspector Simon Trapper is ordered by his superiors to look into the mysterious death of the young Moroccan El Ayashi. Trapper feels very involved because his own son disappeared months previously in the Moroccan Sahara. The quest for the cause of El Ayashi's death - a drug-related reprisal, ritual suicide? - is a means for the policeman to postpone. As long as he is solving this riddle, he doesn't have to accept the fact that there's no point in looking for his own son.
