Mama's proefkonijn

Directing début of famous Dutch actress Monique van de Ven about a boy who one day finds out that his mother is using animals in her research into eye disease. After his shocking discovery, he looks at his own mother differently. He turns his back on her and seeks solace with his father in the country. In the end he decides to take drastic action. With a classmate, he goes to his mother's work and lets all the animals free. When he finds out next day that the animals will not survive outside their cages, he becomes aware of the gravity of his action. He goes looking for the runaway animals and decides to take one of them to 'the spot where everything survives'.
